How much time off does your T take?

It feels like quite a bit, but in reality i am sure its not much.
She is having a week off next week, she had a week off last month but was ill so she is taking next week.

She always tells me that by having regular breaks she stays fresh and is able to do her job excellently. I tend to agree.

It can be hard though.

T takes two weeks off in August, a week in April and a week in October and lots of days off here and there. She gives me plenty of notice first

Mine takes off a couple of weeks around Christmas/New Years and a couple of weeks in August. He also takes a day off here and there - federal holidays mostly.

I have never known a profession that takes as many vacations or leave as this one. I'm from Australia and the standard is two weeks annual leave. When I was working full time I only took one week off at Christmas and had two sick days the whole year. It seems in the world of Ts taking an entire two months off is normal it is ridiculous.

About 7 weeks spread throughout the year. She is alson on a training course in Belgium ( we live in UK) for 4 long weekends which affects me as I see her on Friday. She has tried to reschedule and once even skyped me from abroad! I wish she didn't have the time off but I know I need my breaks from work so expect she does too.

my t's time off rarely impacts me. he may take a week here or there and i know he will take like friday and monday off for long weekends. i see him every other tues and his time off has never fallen on my rotation.

Wow, two weeks?! In the UK the legal minimum is 28 working days I think.

I don't think it's so terrible if Ts take time off. I mean, they are expected to deal with trauma and be verbal punching bags and all the rest of it. It's not like a super simple desk job - it's emotionally draining.

Maybe a week at a time, 2-3 times a year. I think once he was gone a few weeks instead of just one.

A couple weeks around Christmas/New Year, a week or two in the summer and just some short breaks at various points during the year. He really doesn't take much time off. Often he will plan it so that by changing our normal appointment day around, I will only end up going one calendar week without an appointment. As he is near retirement age and doesn't actually need to work I am pleasantly surprised that he doesn't take a lot more time off.

My T has school age kids. She take off all school holidays, this includes a week in April for Easter break, takes off 6 weeks in the summer, the week of Thanksgiving and 2 weeks end of December. So that must be 10-11 weeks throughout the year, not counting days when kids are sick.

Almost none. I don't know where she gets her energy.

Tonight was my first session in 3 weeks. My T was away for two weeks. I've only been seeing her since January so I truly don't know how many more breaks she will take. Funny enough when my T was away, I emailed her about 4 times..and I noticed that the time her replies were sent the time seemed way off...like 6 hours. So...I thought about it and I figured it out pretty quickly...she was somewhere in Europe! So tonight during my session I was talking about my feelings regarding her departure ( NOT easy for me!!) and I added... " you were in Europe,weren't you?? LOL Naturally, she wouldn't deny nor confirm..she just smiled and laughed a bit...while I found the whole conversation somewhat amusing I still find it frustrating that my T doesn't share anything about her with me!!
