I started off seeing my T in a hospital setting but then switched to her private practice which was at her home. At first I felt like it would change everything, like I would have to be more polite and upbeat in her home and wouldn't be able to be upset or angry with her because it was her home environment. I got over this and found that actually it wasn't much different, it was just more comfortable there. It still felt like an office, a private place for me to share things, good and bad.
T has recently moved house and I now see her in her new place. Again, I thought it would change things but I actually feel even more at ease in her new place. She leaves all the doors open which makes me feel at ease as I know there is no one else home. She also makes me tea and we take breaks here and there and it feels really welcoming ![]() |

I'd hate to go to a T's house. I think it makes it a lot more personal, which can bring problems with it. My Ts have both been in offices with a secretary and a waiting room. There's only one T there, so I never have to be around other people waiting for their T
