I am terrified of crossing t's boundaries and have told her this. She has told me if I ever did, we would "work it out." Still working on this!

I love my T (5.5 years now....lol), but a few months ago I demanded my full medical record to read it for any mistakes......she got defensive, like I had crossed a line, just asserting my rights. Guess that was her boundary.......then I saw it as control...

Quote:
T is not supposed to reveal to anyone that you are their patient without your signed consent, except in matters of law enforcement or if they believe you are a danger to yourself or someone else. Totally unethical behavior. |

Thanks for this! I violated boundaries, I feel like, by looking up personal details on my T. But my T did it first and didn't "hold the frame," because T treated me more like a friend.

Pff, I've googled therapists all the time. Mine told me during our consultation that if we ran into each other out in public, I can say hi etc. but she cannot initiate, because of confidentiality. I am a-ok with this because I would run away if I saw her outside of her office. I find it hard enough to ride with her in an elevator every week. LOL.
