So I was curious and typed in my ts name on google. Then got hooked looking at other patients reviews on the various websites. That's not the issue tho. The issue is that it makes me really angry to see how other people rated my t (if it was less than what I thought she should have been rated)... I almost feel angry on ts behalf. I know I'm overreacting and it doesn't matter and everyone is entitled to their own opinions but...

Has anyone else rated their t or seen reviews? What was your reaction?

My T had no reviews when I started seeing her. I created a fantastic review for her on the first three sites that come up when you google her. She has only been a T in this state for 4 years. Before that, she was in another state. So, I guess no one reviewed her in this state before. If I saw a bad review for my current T, I'd assume the person had issues. My current T is excellent. My former Ts were so-so and have both positive and negative reviews. I could see that with both of them.

The one I see does not have reviews. I don't think it would bother me one way or the other what others thought of her. I figure she is probably not terrible or particularly wonderful with others although she may be and any review would be a reflection of how they interacted together.

I used 2 different e-mail to review my T to bring up his scores. I think a disgruntled client gave him a bad review and brought everything down.

A long time ago I checked out T's website and saw no reviews. I provided a great one on a couple of sites to encourage others to see him. Figured it was a way to give him something for all his help. I checked it out some time ago and found a not so great rating but that's expected I suppose. My T's specialty is addiction so he can't expect all his clients to like him when he's encouraging sobriety. Hey, a mixed review is better than no review.

There aren't any reviews for my T. Not sure if that's because it's the UK and they're not such a common thing - plus we have the world's strictest libel laws...

I keep meaning to review my pdoc. He has AMAZING reviews. Especially for a psychiatrist. When T first gave me the referral I was shocked at how many people love my pdoc. He is really great, but he does work with crazy people, so you'd think the occassional weirdo review would eventually sneak in.

I've seen ratings on my Primary Care Physician (PCP) but not on my therapist; I don't see how a useful rating could be done on a psychotherapist, with everyone in an individualize program of treatment. Presumably my PCP treats me like others, but I don't think there's any such thing with therapists.

I agree, there isn't really a large or popular website to review therapists in the UK. I find it fascinating practice that this happens across the pond.

Funny, I was going to post this thread...
Being the insomniac I am, I spent a lot of time one night on a web site reviewing the Ts/pdocs I have seen...esp giving the two I see now and my ex-T (even though he didn't terminate with me correctly, I know why...and he was the best T I have ever had, sigh) good reviews.
And then I gave my childhood T a terrible review because when I tried to see if I could reconnect with her last year she treated me like ****. It was also interesting because 8 other people didn't give her very good reviews either. I have been wondering if it had to do with not being able to control me like she could as a child...but I think she just sucks with adults (and should probably retire).
I tried telling my new T that he had 100%s across the board from everyone else (and me) and he covered up his ears and was like "Ahh, I don't want to know!! All it takes is one bad review!!" LOL. Which is true, but his overdramatic reaction was funny.
Thanks for this!
