I missed t so much so when I saw her today she looked different. Her hair was cut and dyed, she had lots of makeup on and she looked in love we went upstairs to her office and chatted about the weather until we got into her office.
We both sat down and I said "T, you got your hair done, it's beautiful" she smiled and said thank you no one else noticed"
She asked how I had been since I last saw her. At that moment I could feel tears coming to my eyes. T said " Mona, whats going on, what happened?"
So I told her how things seem to happen and everything together, my breakup, her suggesting we cut down sessions and no t school till September.
T said, oh well Mona you know they come in threes. She asked why I didn't ring her. I told her I didn't want to bother her, she laughed and said I could have rang and she would have slotted me in, o can have an appt everyday if I wanted she just suggested this break to see how I got on.
I was so relieved that she doesn't want to terminate.
She said she missed me and I told her I missed her too.
We talk about why I feel so bad when something ends and she said that I need to learn to fill gaps, fill my time up so I won't be so dependent on relationships. We talked about these feelings I get and t said oh Mona, you have to stop these thoughts you have, you will make yourself sick.
We talked about my creative side and how I keep it hidden and how it is aching to get out again. I think t is right I do needed an outlet and maybe I should join a group. She said she was glad to hear that I broke up with gf as it was causing me undue stress and anxiety. We went over by 30 mins again and t booked me in for next week.
She said I looked much happier in the way out and I feel stronger now. I don't need to go back and see new t now anymore.
I love my t

I forgot to say how my t didn't even know what pride was, I said I was considering going to the parade this year and she what is this parade??
I had to explain the whole thing to her, how on earth could a therapist not know what gay pride is?

Ya know... During the assessment I had, there was this moment where the MSW offered some pretty unsolicited advice and I felt, and its a ridiculous term to use for me, and it wasn't the regular way its intended, but "Slut-shamed".

I stopped for a moment to think... did that really happen? (and whatevs... I can discuss in therapy when I finally get there.)

So no. No surprise that a therapist could, indeed, not know what gay pride is.

Oh dear some of them really need to work on their delivery, tact and knowledge a lot more.
