I might think that thus far, I'm a failure at life, work and social connections, but perhaps I might be able to help in this case...

What you need to do, in future, when you're looking for a phrase (a group of words in a particular order,) is to click on advanced search, and type "life of pi" with the quotes in the keyword area.

I can see several couch threads and a couple of specific threads. You'll be able to see the particular one I'm sure, and can drill down further in advanced search, if necessary.

So have I. My OCD need to use 1000 "perfect" words when 10 will do is probably maladaptive (not that I'll be able to resist next time but hey!)

My eldest daughter also wanted me to watch a horror movie with her, i was so triggered and ran around mumbling, til she said "But Mum you're reading a Dean Koontz book" I still don't know how to tell her why I hate horror movies. I know its not real but deep down it feels real to me. I really need to bring this up with T.
Thanks for this!

Anyone have any ideas for getting over artistic block. I have literally tons of ideas, they are falling over themselves in my head but when I sit down to sketch them I can't begin to get started. I've tried my usual going for a walk/ride, watching comedy, changing my dominant hand etc. Nothing comes out of my head, but its bursting.

Don't worry I've solved it. Mucking about with mixed media helps.

Good morning. I woke up in a decent mood, made my H his favorite breakfast. Oooed over a photo my daughter posted of him and the kids when they were younger. Then I started to cry. It seems like everyone posts a photo of them with their dad for father's day. I don't have one, and for some reason today that hurts. There are hardly any photos of me as a child, and none include him. He did not walk me down the aisle. We didn't have a father/daughter dance, he didn't even attend my wedding. I know it's stupid to feel such a loss, but I feel it.

Good morning, couch peeps. Slept pretty well last night, although woke up in pain as usual.

I woke up to ants in my kitchen. ACK! It always happens around this time of year, although I can never predict how bad it's going to be. I'm so bummed about it because my kitchen is finally immaculate - and now THIS. AARGH. Gotta figure out how to tackle this effectively.

I have about 1-1/2 hours before I have to leave for the memorial mass for my dad. Nice not to have to rush.

MUE...
Leave out a plate with corn meal, coffee grounds and/or uncooked cream of wheat. The ants will grab it and bring it back to their colony, and when they eat these things their stomachs explode.

You can also spray around peppermint oil, they hate that.

Morning couch.

Just popping in before I start my cleaning. I will be in and out today as I "reward" myself for getting certain cleaning tasks done.

Don't have much to do. I ran the dishwasher last night. I only do laundry every 2 weeks (I have enough clothes to last me longer than that), so it's not a laundry week since I washed last week. So all that's left is:
-Put clean dishes away.
-Clean the kitchen.
-Clean the bathroom.
-Change the litter box.
-Vacuum
-Dust

That shouldn't take me too long. Maybe I will work as fast as I did last weekend and be done in a couple of hours.

Well, off to get dressed and start my cleaning adventure.

Thanks, wiki....I'll definitely try that. I just sprinkled cinnamon on the deck around the perimeter of the kitchen. The last couple of years, we've only had a small ant problem in the house....maybe dozens. Years prior, there were hundreds that ended up throughout the cabinets - and I had to throw out everything. It was horrible. So, whenever I see a few ants, I freak.

Yay! Cleaning is done. Took me less than an hour. Next week will take longer because I will have to do laundry as well. But, hey 2 hours every other week and 1 hour the no laundry weeks...not bad. I can handle that.

Maybe I don't need daily cleaning chores. One day of cleaning seems to be working the past 2 weeks.

Whats the dilemma in posting it? I'm pretty sure either way you'll be well supported being a popular member here

Just from personal experience, feelings are usually better out than in. Just a question of whether you want peer support about it.

Never mind, and you were right to post.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
