I'm at over 6000 posts and I've never figured out how to access any of the little treats. Granted, I never tried very hard.

My daughter and her friend are watching TV and winding down in the other room. I'm going to tuck them in and go to bed.

Goodnight, couch peeps.

Thanks! I finally got him to load! We have 2 in session - one sits on my lap, and a smaller one - he's the height of a dollar bill ?? - rides bareback on another little girl's pink and blue My Little Pony. he's our id. And T holds Max, cuz I thought Max was a girl. Max makes faces during the whole sesion, she's very opinionated!

I know I'm in my mid 40's but I'd really like to curl up in someone's lap and have them stroke my hair. I feel like that lost little girl standing the hallway wondering what I did wrong....

BiP I get that feeling...I'm the same age and I feel that way at times... It makes me really angry with myself. (why can't I just accept that I never had that and I never will)

I always felt everything was my fault, and why did I have to look out for my brother when he was 5 years older than me?

Maybe I should change my username to Squonk if I'm going to cry this much.

It is no use sitting around feeling sorry for myself. I have decided to give myself a huge kick up the a**e and get on with life and find a proper job and housing. In fact I'm going to swallow my pride and see if my old job will have me back as the old supervisor has left.

I really hope this works for you.

Would it be rude to ask about how your bipolar cycles work? Where are you at, at the moment?

I'm not sure how to answer that as I've only been diagnosed for 2 years and only on Lithium for a while. But I am still debating what is stable with my MH team as their stable seems to be a bit depressed for me. Prior to diagnosis I cycled from depression to mania with no discernible periods of stable.

Good morning couch. I hope people's Thursdays will be better than Wednesday was. I have my last T session before the summer in a couple of hours' time.

Hmm... my question may have given you the impression that I had a little more experience in the matter, than I do. I do understand the basic mechanics, (and say, understand that BPD is a similar, yet, distinct condition,) but I couldn't tell you, say, how rapid a rapid cycle might be, or how to differentiate a hypomania from full mania. If you assumed I had a very broad overview, but not a very deep understanding therein (as might come from actual experience,) that would be a good assumption

Also, I can only imagine that must be a struggle... I do kind of intuit it in your postings.

Can I ask what was in the mail?

Good morning! Its pitch-f***ing-black o'clock outside, where I am!

Are you, by any chance, in Blighty?

No, Scandihoovia (Sweden, to be precise. I tend to be vague about that in threads outside the couch.) It's 8:45am here and in June, it's never pitch black anyway

I have driven an awfully long distance in Sweden, one time, on route to Finland... Did you know that when Finn's are drunk they apparently magically gain the ability to speak English? Oh, and Stockholm is one of the cleanest cities on the planet (at least in my admittedly not fully experienced experience!)

And yes, the eternal summer is freaky

Are you so close to the Arctic Circle?

When Finns are drunk they magically gain the ability to speak, full stop

And what is REALLY freaky is when it's warm outside and you can see the stars. I think I may have told the story before of when I was eleven and spent the summer in the US, and had heard about 4th of July fireworks, and wondered why anybody would want to shoot off fireworks when you can't actually see them! Once I was there - in Minnesota, specifically - I couldn't get over how dark it got... I almost got SAD in the middle of summer! (No, not really, of course.)
Thanks for this!

I live less than a km south of the 60th lat, so it's quite far to the Circle. We don't have midnight sun in my part of the country, but it never gets fully dark. It's perfectly possible to sit outside and read all night if you have good mosquito repellant.
Thanks for this!

Is there any kind of animosity or rivalry between the scan' countries? Curious. Do you think you could tell people apart if it wasn't for language?

Ha. Well.. the earth is a little kinky, being tilted that way, among other things. I once explained to my cousin, that, yes.. it was 39c outside, but I could see fully snow-capped peaks in the distance.

I'm gonna want to answer the ethnicity/rivalry question properly, so I'll leave it until I am not typing on my phone (advance warning: I do sometimes lecture. Um. You probably noticed that already.)

LOL re Minnesoooooota! Which part of the country are you in, if that's not an inappropriate question? Apologies if it is. Folks should have a right to their privacy.
