Ever have one of those moments where your T asks you a question, asks why you felt the way you did, or reacted the way you reacted and you just sit there starring at your T like he/she has two heads???

And the answer that crosses your mind is, that's why I'm here, because I don't know, and your suppose to help me figure the answer out.

I get so angry and confused when this happens to me. I get mad at myself for realizing I can't answer questions and then I get confused when my T continues to stare and smile at me until I blurt out something, often not really related or true to the question that was asked.

Sometimes I feel like we are going NOWHERE because I can't answer questions and my T stares at me waiting for a reply...I didn't pay for you to sit and stare at me, I paid you to talk with me.

I finally told my T that I experience that kind of silence as adversarial. He has started trying to help me more and explore things with me more, rather than just ask questions I don't know the answers to. Try telling her you don't know and need to explore the answer with her help.

Sometimes I go blank when someone asks me questions, about anything, whether I know or not.

Like MKAC said, tell him that you don't know the answer for some reason, that not knowing the answer is frustrating for you, and hopefully, he will help guide you.

They don't ask a question if they don't think they already know the answer, so tell them to just go ahead and answer it! Seriously! They think they're gonna influence our answer. Usually the only so-called influence my t has is, I disagree with him!

The woman has said I do look at her like she has two heads sometimes.
I don't know how to answer the how do you feel then or now when recounting some small thing. I don't feel anything is the truth, but since she is asking it, apparently I am supposed to be feeling or have felt something but damned if I know what it would be.
Thanks for this!

I absolutely can not stand when that happens. My answer usually is "I don't know" to which T tells me Yes! You DO know, now answer it, then I reply with "really, I don't know what to say, my mind is blank" then I get frustrated, or T gets frustrated and we move onto something else.

My response in the past has been "why don't you tell me what a healthy way to feel would be". This way I can compare it.
