was talking about not being able to 'use' T to a great degree for comfort. T replied, "is it you cannot trust you are welcome to use me for comfort?"

That word, welcome, stuck with me. scared me, yes I am afraid I am not welcome. But hearing it said and acknowledging T does welcome me to 'take' what I need from her and she knows that doesn't mean I dont appriciate her, but that its ok to 'use' her.

Hi Mouse,

Sometimes we take comfort subconsciously before we can trust.

Keep going

Interesting. Because before, i would have been just incredibly inhibited around the puppy dog. But this time, I took my welcome whether I was welcome or not! Dog equals welcome. Not defense! I mean i leaned in.

Oh I should or could have said - my t is a child psychologist and the client with the puppy is a child. I have seen the child and her adult before, but not the dog.

Life changing words. I still use my husband's when he said he was not laughing at me or with me but enjoying me. The idea that someone would enjoy me. . .

That's different then. It's interesting that you omitted that.

Yeah I was just feeling weird about talking about them so I just generalized them to" t's next clients". Sorry I didnt mean to lead you down the garden path.
