So I have decided that I feel like there is something off about me and to go to a place and see what can be done, tomorrow I have intake and I am not sure exactly how to describe it to them?
Honestly today is a bad day to discuss this becase not feel to bad off, but nothing last forever.

latley my focus feels off like during a conversation I may have to ask someone what they said multiple times or I can't feel like I understand simple directions.
As for feeling down I can't say I feel depressed maybe more unhappy with living situation for many reasons.
Sleeping has been a issue but the recent not having a place to go work i feel is mostly to blame for thay, I've been taking 200mcg of Melatonin nights I feel it will be hard to try and regain control of some sort of sleep scedule (usally take it between 8pm-9pm) pretty much have a nice sleep scedule now :]

I can't think of anything I need to tell them/they will ask. idk I have no intention on lying to them, I just want to make sure I have some idea of what help I am looking before I go in.

Good luck to you on this.

Most mental health providers are skilled at asking these types of questions. You wouldn't be the first to present for care and not be able to fully articulate your thoughts or emotions.
In fact, you might even let the person interviewing you know that you are having trouble putting your finger on exactly what you need.
Thanks for this!

From my many experiences with intakes, the counselor mainly asks a bunch of questions, such as "Have you ever been hospitalized for a mental disorder?"

And perhaps a question about what you are seeking from therapy......Maybe you could say what you said here. Describe what seems off about your behavior. Say you want help in sorting it out?

Try not to worry. The counselor is just trying to learn a bit about you to know how to work with you. It's not like you can fail it. You'll be okay.

i second what yellow frog said. if you tell them just what you said to us, that you feel "off" but can't pinpoint it, they can usually ask questions to get a better picture.
When I first started therapy up again after a brief break, I went in telling the clinician that I felt like something was happening/off, but I did not know what it was. She was pretty good about working with me to figure it out.
good luck.

They will ask a bunch of questions, including "Are you looking at taking medication, therapy or both?", about personal hygiene, and relationships. As long as you are completely honest and try to elaborate you'll do fine.

Well turns out I didn't have intake today due to I got a call from the office I worked at before to come back in and work a few more weeks (This is good and bad lol)
I think I have a better picture of what I want to work on, information seems to get lost in my head and my focus seems off.
Before when I had my externship there I messed up big time on numbers/billing and coding. part of it I think was being a student but I do think figuring out what feels off about me may be that.
I think another major part would be stress from at home which does not help whatever may be wrong.

Until I get the chance to reschedul intake anyone have advice on what I should do til then like take notes of what feels off when it feels off etc?
