This is your therapy, so if you don't think his presence is going to help you, don't take him along.

Maybe he could go with you to support you, but wait in the waiting room while you are in with your T?

I know this is after the fact, but just thought I would let you know that I suggest that for your first few visits with the new T, that you have your sessions alone with the T. It is better to be able to focus on what is being said without any outside conversations going on. It's your sessions & sometimes bf's or even husbands can be more of a distraction than help.
Once you get more familiar with your T, & he/she gets to know YOU, then it might be ok to allow your bf to come to some of the sessions with you if you feel it might be helpful. If your bf wants to come along & sit in the waiting room during your session that can be a good thing because if you want, you can discuss the session afterwards with your bf......sometimes it helps to talk over what went on....of course, sometimes it isn't a good idea....it all depends on your relationship with your bf. I wish you good luck with your new T, Debbie
