Full session with Mr T but only two things worth reporting:
1. He told me about a new grounding/mindfulness technique: Do whatever you are doing SLOWLY. I'll give that one a go some time. Such simple techniques that Madame T never taught me. 2. I finally found something about Madame T that he actively disapproves off. When I told her I wanted to skip a session to help pay for my Aspergers assessment, she gave me a lecture about her "continuity of income". (That's when she started bullying me over the cancellation policy.) Mr T was appalled. It is NOT the patient's job to keep the therapist in continuous employment.

wow...i'm appalled too that a T would tell you something about "continuity of income" -- at the very least she should have disguised it a bit as "continuity of care" or something that sounded like she cared about YOU rather than a self centered statement about HERSELF. wow.
glad you got a simple technique that may be useful to you. i love something that i heard once..."true brilliance is simple" i think about that statement a lot...and it's true...sometimes the best, most meaningful and most helpful things are the simplest...they are the most brilliant, best things. and really...brilliance ought not be complex. true brilliance anyway. (fake/phoney brilliance is complicated and hard to follow). |

It's very validating for current T to actively disapprove of something xT said/did.

One day we'll go through Madame T's final report together. I'm hoping he will disagree!

My T never mentions money -- except once, when I brought it up 'cause I wasn't able to pay(I don't have insurance) and he immediately reduced the price per session. He even told me that "If there's still a problem, tell me." I was so greatful. ![]() I pay him every 5 sessions and honestly, if I don't, he doesn't even remember it. ![]()

I'm glad that you received some validation from your T. On the other issue (#1), I really like the idea of taking things slowly. Take care.

I think if my T only wanted me there for HER income when I was offering to go without support for something that meant a lot for me, I would feel so invalidated and used. Madame T was awful to say that to you.
