So recently (past month), I found out that I have mild dissociation when engaging in sexual activity. I don't want to get into it. I do want to clarify that there is no CSA here though.

But there is a point when I dissociate kind of severely. Where I mentally black-out for a minute (I say mentally because my eyes are still open when I come to) and then there is a lot of noise for a couple of minutes. Not noise that isn't really there, but all the background noises we usually don't hear are LOUD. Leaves, wind, river, the sky. It's all buzzing and I'm shaking really bad and I'm out of breath and I'm just looking for something to grasp onto, to pull myself back into reality.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Red X-icon just in case this triggers people.

When I come back after floating away, my senses go into overdrive and yes, my ears are on alert and magnify every sound before I'm 100% back to myself.

Do you have a t to speak to about this?

Intimacy can be a huge trigger. It makes sense that when we return to our full senses, they seem louder & brighter.

I have that experience, too. I feel like I have "spidey senses" when I'm checking out--I am SO much more attuned to everything, but not in a way that feels good and connected.

I am planning on bringing it up next session.. but I get more than a little embarrassed and mortified when discussing sexual stuff.

I feel that, skeksi. It does NOT feel good.
