I have so much to say in my therapy sessions, only been three times, and I have this urgency to tell the therapist about all my abusive past - I am only a tiny bit of the way through it all. Its overwhelming. I cry and sob and want to be hugged so much when I am in therapy. My psychiatrist (I am bipolar) said the hardest part is the beginning, I agree. Am sure you have all experienced this too.

Just that I have this URGENCY to talk it all out. Huge amounts of happened in my life, I didnt know where to start at first.

I sometimes come in with an agenda that is just too long. I remember one times T ask me if I was ready to go because I didn't want to leave her office. I just kind of kept sitting there.
Been there. I feel for you. I hope you get the pleasure of sharing as much as your little mind wants to. I am not sure if pleasure is the right word. But, I find that I kind get a sort of pleasure out of sharing the things that I have never shared with another human being before with T.

Take your time. It will gradually fall into place. Well done on seeing someone, and it is also good that you both 'click'. Take care.

Please do take your time. While the cathartic nature of sharing with someone who cares can be good, it can also cause you to reach of point of WHOA! What have I done/said? If the T says anything even slightly negative, that could spin you into second guessing your sharing... going more slowly will also give the T time to help you work through it. TC

Thank you all for your advise and kind words. I will try to slow down at my next session - it has literally been all the bad stuff about my mother and nothing about what has happened in my life like work, my own family etc. He needs to know my lifestyle really but I guess it will all fall into place.

thanks again

lots of love to you all.
