So I'm in psychoanalytical therapy, where T says little.
Today I walked in as normal. Sat down. T lets me dictate sessions. So I chatted about this and that, than suddenly stopped, looked at T and said "ok, I can see its only me gonna be doing all the talking here today" T couldn't keep her "studious" face with that. I think much of the session was spent in that fashion. I just weren't into being there today. |

Sounds good to me. Really good. You're comfortable enough to be honest about how you're feeling, and both you & T are OK with it. Sounds like progress to me!

Yes, I think it's great to have a dynamic therapeutic relationship, a little like outside relationships. Therapy's for the horrific, scary, difficult stuff, and the thoughtful, problem-solving mode, but there's also room for the fun, comfortable, taking pleasure in each other's company mode. My therapist says it ebbs and flows, and I'm super-impatient, so I don't always like that, haha, but think it's good.
P.S. Just realized you're in psychoanalysis, I remember my own, not too fondly, haha, and I can see where that type of thing would be a bit more frowned upon. |
