T didnt get it and said i was frightening. and said i was outside her limits arent flashbacks and dissociation normal trauma responses? i cant control it. **can anyone guess why T didnt want to see me to terminate me? and did it by phone which hurts more. i dont understand |

My heart breaks for you, stringcheese
![]() I wish your T would've at least spoken to you in person. Terminating you over the phone was wrong and I hope she gave you some referrals. Did you get any referrals or direction? You didn't do anything wrong and didn't deserve that. You do deserve to have a new T who is able to help you through this right now ![]() |

These are absolutely normal for trauma survivors and I'm horrified by your T. You didn't do anything wrong. This sucks and I'm so sorry.

You're right. Those are normal reactions/responses to a trauma history. This is not your fault.
Did your T provide you with a referral? T's aren't supposed to be legally able to drop clients like that. |

Well, this isnt the first time you and this t have crossed swords, so to speak. You felt she overstepped her bounds at the beginning, by googling you. So maybe that was a sign she wasnt as accepting or able to handle things. I'm sorry things ended so abruptly. I know it's soon, but I would try not to dwell. Just see it as her personal or even professional limitation, and figure out how to avoid it in the future. A referral from her might not even help - birds of a feather, you know.

Terminating over the phone is completely unprofessional. I'm so sorry you're going through.
Yes flashbacks and dissociating are all completely normal for those who have experienced trauma in their lives. My now Ex T also claimed to be experienced with Trauma but all she did was talk about herself. Definitely not what I needed. I hope your able to find a great T to help you and one that is professional. |

She certainly sounds unskilled.
Have trauma flashbacks with the session is the perfect place to have them. Ask around. Find a skilled T. |

Stringcheese,
I saw from your response on your other post that your T did not give you any referrals. That is wrong and not all Ts are like this...I am sorry this happened to you and want to encourage you to try and find someone else. I know it would be hard to do that in the midst of this, but the right, *ethical* T can make all the difference ![]() |

I'd report her behaviour.
The only time I'd consider this as an appropriate reaction would be if the client physically attacked the T... |
