No, it's really not a problem. I just wish you wanted better for yourself.

Funny hubby story -- this morning on the way to work, there was a sign at the local car wash saying, "free washes for vets." I was like, 'oh that's nice.' H is like, "huh. I wonder why they are going that. There aren't that many vets around, are there? Only like three or four." I was totally perplexed until I realized he was thinking VETERINARIANS and not VETERANS. Man, I laughed so hard.

Last week when t and I were confirming we would have no appointment this week.. He did offer a 5pm appointment on Wednesday.. I declined because my D has dance class from 4:15-5pm.. And h has bible study at 6:30. Thinking now, I would like that appointment.. D can miss a dance class no problem, and h could probably still make it to bible study he would just be a little late. But this would be incredibly selfish of me to expect my daughter to miss a class and h to be late just so I can have an appt with my t, right?

Why would D and H be affected by your T appointment, healed? Transport/logistics problems? (Sorry if I'm missing something obvious. My brain really isn't working well.)

Because, I bring D to and from dance, and if I bring her to dance I would not be able to bring her to T with me..And there is no way h could pick her up. And h needs me home to watch the kids before he can leave for bible study.. And if I take a 5pm appointment it probably won't end until after 6 b/c t usually starts late. Making me home later than usual on Wednesday nights, therefore making him late for bible study.

Ah, I see. Quite a jigsaw puzzle you have to deal with. And it's extra annoying that yout T starts late....
I think it would be reasonable for you to prioritise your health, and go to T. Bible study, in comparison, is more of a social/recreational activity (and I mean absolutely no disrespect by this!) and being late for that would not be such a horrible thing.

H can skip Bible study with a lot less stress and anxiety than you can skip T. Have H take D to and from dance, and just miss one Bible study. It's not as if he cannot read the Bible segments on his own and he just misses it forever.

Healed, way to be proactive.

I just made a quite tasty corn, potato (both sweet and regular), turnips, swiss chard and turnip green chowder.

LC - I hope you feel better.
Have you thought about how you seem to get ill a lot around the end of traveling/being alone? My partner, when faced with certain sorts of stress almost weekly, would and still can always get physically ill - bad cold, sore throat/flu like symptoms or with stomach flu sorts of things. It is usually at the end of such stress - after it is over.
She has made some hard changes in dealing with her awful family and in work in recent years and is not sick as much.
Just a thought.

Thanks SD and yes I have noticed the pattern. Stress and overall chaos, even ever so slightly causes me to become sick every time. Be it a cold, sore throat or nausea and vomiting. I looked into a DBT group in the area, it didn't come to fruition, not enough participants. I am going to approach this from a logical perspective and instill a routine for myself. I realize that most of the feelings and physical and mental stuff I bring on myself and therefore in theory I should be able to correct myself. So that is going to be my new experiment.

*I am still searching for a DBT Therapist

Sounds yummy. I like turnips, but parsnips scare me. And rutabagas.

Parsnips are great - I just use them like a carrot. They would have gone well in this chowder. I usually use them in a curried carrot soup I make.
I do the same with rutabagas - I add them in sometimes along side potato.

They should give tastes of weird veggies at supermarkets instead of jelly or sausages or cigarettes

Eta - warning I've been exercising and I get funny when I do. Or I think I get funny.
