Hey guys!

I've got my last session with my therapist on Monday. I can't say I'll miss the hassle of going to therapy weekly, but I have learned a great deal about myself. And my young therapist is a cool person. I would like to give her a thank you card. Is that appropriate? She is also expecting. I'd like to get her a baby gift, but again, I don't know if it's appropriate.

What do you all think? As always I appreciate any feedback.

I don't think either sound out of line. I think it would be very sweet of you.

I agree, and a baby gift might be easier for your T to accept than a personal gift to herself? I would keep it very simple though and inexpensive.

Love the mustache pacifier idea. Saw several online and fell out laughing. I like you, you're silly like me. It's a gift! Mustache pacifier it is.

I LOVE that idea. It's so cute, quirky and definitely unique. Please update us on how the gift goes, and her reaction! Would love to hear

Well I went to the local Targay (target) and didn't go with the mustache theme, but got pacifiers that read, "mute button" and "Alarm". High-larious! very inexpensive too. I also got a funny thank you card.

here's an update. Had the last session Monday, she loved the gift. It was so nice to see. I prefaced it by saying, "yeah I hope this isn't out of line, but if it is .. oh well." Very glad I chose the other pacifiers, someone already gave her the mustache one. hee hee. She appreciated the sentiment. She was very moved. It was very sweet. She threatened to cry but I was like, "Uh please don't, if you go, I'm going to go too and then it's just a mess." I did end up crying later in the session for a brief second over my Dad. Grief was one of the issues I was working on in therapy.

Funny.. I'm starting to tear up as I write this. It's just now hitting me 4 days later. wow. damned emotions!!! I'll miss her though. I hope I find another therapist in Texas when I move who is as easy to talk to as she is.

Yes it was very sweet. It was nice of her to be able to be vulnerable with me the way I've been with her. I found it a great compliment.
