Daeva, I think printing out the conversation is a great idea. Based on what you have said, I do not think you are out of line for wanting to take care of you. Your Grandma seems judgmental. Do what's best for you.

I hate that I'm missing my appt right now. Is it really too early for vodka? T told me I can reach out whenever I want to say hi and connect.

Ack - vodka and therapists do not mix.
Connect with therapist. No vodka.
It doesn't end well.

I haven't had any painkillers since 5 am, but I am still relatively free with my fingers and having the impulse to type what I really think and call people on stuff, so I should continue to mostly stay off here. LOL.

T was light today because I've been ill and have to defend a deposition today. So we talked about what defending a deposition MEANS and what certain other legal terms mean and what my anxieties are around defending a deposition or doing certain legal work. We discussed tools for dealing with those anxieties and it was actually productive.

Have a good T session to everyone who has T today! Good luck with the H discussion, Healed. Now that the door is open, maybe you can have an in person discussion.

Hang in there, Jersey. Only a few more hours until 5 pm.

Bipolararist... We are lucky we have the opportunity to contact our Ts between sessions. A lot of people on PC don't have that option... :O

Yes, he said he is not surprised to hear it, but it brings up different emotions for him. That was it.

I understand. I'm a bit of an expert when it comes to procrastinating myself. I hope thing will work out for you anyway. You watching the Nobel Prize banquet tonight?

(I'm a bit excited about the Nobel Prize in Medicine. The Nobel Prize winners in that category are actually going to give a lecture at my university on Friday and I really hope I can attend. It's an open lecture so it all depends on whether or not I can get a seat. I bet a lot of people will be there.)

That's so cool! I actually saw Sudhof speak recently at a conference, and he was awarded the Lasker that day, so we kind of knew the Nobel might be coming. He does really interesting stuff, and I work in that field now so it's especially exciting for me. I hope you get to attend the lecture!

You asked me a while back what I like about biochemistry (haven't been on the computer much, been out and about and generally exhausting myself... I cannot wait until the first trimester is REALLY behind me). I think what blows my mind is the massive improbability of it all. The way atoms had to come together to form the molecules that would become molecules of life, and to do so in such a way that those molecules can store information. And how much of that information is kept in the form of hydrogen bonds, which aren't even full-on molecular bonds. They're not that strong, yet they are the reason that life works the way it does. Three H-bonds in a GC pair and two H-bonds in an AT/AU pair makes all the difference in the world, and that absolutely blows my mind .

Nope, not watching the banquet - we actually don't have any TV channels (though I could watch it over the Internets I guess.) Are you watching?

I hope you get a seat for the Nobel Prize lectures!
