Today's session was all over the place just like my moods, I been highly stressed h is being very unsuportive and controlling , add the holidays, triggers, flashbacks, and trauma work you get the picture.

I just went in there blurting everything about h and I rarely include him in my session talks. Started talking about random stuff that was bothering me. All the while looking at the floor .usually I go in there organized with a topic.

Then I had a pdoc appt in the afternoon I been seeing her for two years , we get along great we are very open I see her for like 40 min. Her nurse made a mistake last month and gave me 50mg Zoloft instead of 100mg I took it for a month , started feeling depressed and very anxious , that got corrected.

Here is the problem so I have had like 3 root canals and a missing tooth couple cavities and I'm a cigarette smoker , I use smokers tooth paste to control some yellowing , my teeth Are not yellow. Anyway she asks me if I have done meth , I said never . She says oh because I see your missing some teeth.

OMG I just was floored , I picked up my meds it was the end of our session , I can't shake it off.

First of all. I'm sorry your T was so insensitive . That would really have hurt my feelings aw well. Second, I am a dental hygienist so I know about teeth. There is a condition called meth mouth but it is characterized more by the condition of the remaining teeth, not the fact that some are absent. More people loose teeth to decay and periodontal disease then methmouth.
Your T probably doesn't know the facts.

Thank you it was my pdoc, not my t . I found it very offensive my teeth are nowhere near "meth mouth" I really take care of my remaining teeth which are alot , I felt bad.

It really seems dumb that she would even ask that question since you have been seeing her for 2 years. I am sorry she said that and I would be pissed.
Thanks for this!

Gee, what a thing to say to a client .
A. she knows you ( 2 yr is long enough- this was not an intake session to ask about substance use)
B. you probably are already self conscious about it and this couldn't have helped.
I'm so sorry

With the T session- I don't see it as a bad thing to blurt out things that are on your mind. That could be good in the long run?
Thanks for this!

Sounds like a rough day

Curious, why do you look at floor, when venting about your h?

I dont know , I guess I feel ashamed or guilty that I let h have control over me, and as a woman I feel embarrassed, he goes through these controlling moods every so often.
