Yeah, that explains it then.
Reparenting, as controversial as it is, could be helpful for some clients. Though I'd never risk it I do hope you'll be one of those few benefiting from it.

There is a type of therapy called Schema Therapy which is where the limited re-parenting thing comes from. I found a great article explaining it; http://bit.ly/1b23oN8

If this is what your therapist is doing sweetsurrender then the outcomes are supposed to be really good. It sounds like you have a really healing relationship with her.
