What does your t mean to you?

To me, my T is a see saw. He's stable but things go up and down mostly because of me. I don't trust him even though I know he's stable, because I'm up at the top and can't get myself down - and worry that he'll drop me.

What does your t mean to you?

He is my guiding light out of the darkness, and my ray of hope peeking through the storm clouds that gather over me. He makes me feel uplifted and safe.

It's too hard for me to summarize my therapist's role in only one picture, but I'll share one facet. She's like this cozy, soft, crocheted shawl, an extra layer of comfort: while I'm out in the world, living my life and struggling, I can feel a little warmer and more secure knowing she's there and cares about me.

I don't think a picture would be able to describe it. I think of the woman as someone I pay to sit there for an hour each week who does not get involved in my real life.

Perhaps a statue? lol. Sorry. That's what popped in to my head while reading your post!

Maybe. I can't think of any statues/sculptures/art/robots that would represent the therapist to me.
Perhaps I am just not that visually minded.

I don't have a picture, but she is like a solid rock that I can trust to hold me up when I am falling apart.

I love this, especially used in relation to what therapy means to you! I just started therapy again, the picture is only beginning to develop...

Sometimes it's this:
What does your t mean to you?

Usually, it's this:
What does your t mean to you?

Note the look on the cat's face. She's like "ugh you'll never guess where I found her this time crazy little **** getting into the most trouble possible"

Interesting how different people interpret things. That is not how I read the cat's expression as she carries the kitten.

What does your t mean to you?

This stems back to something T said at one of our first sessions. He described therapy as a bridge where most of the time you have to do the work on your own (that's all the time between sessions), and then the session comes along, like a support under the bridge.
