The fish is hand made...the beads are store bought, but I strung and twisted them. The clasp is store bought too.

Do you dig my paper towel background? lol. So professional!

What do you do with fish? Tell me you don't eat them, or hurt them, or run horrible tests on them.

No I don't hurt them (however that's true, sometimes I eat fish) - I protect them

dum de dumm....
no way I can get out without them, there's a huge hill with a deep lake at the bottom...I don't swim when it's below zero out. My car doesn't have a submarine function either.

((( Granite ))) - Having low blood sugar is an awful feeling. Mine crashes on occasion, and it feels like it takes forever to feel stabilized - the effects last so long. Ugh!! The last time I felt my sugar crashing I was at my mom's, and I borrowed her sugar testing kit - and my sugar was 52 - it's usually normal. I felt AWFUL. I hope you're feeling better soon.

((( Jersey ))) - ACK. I hope you feel better soon! Please take care of yourself, ok?

I'm doing OK. My cousin had a baby girl the other day, so I was on a high lovin on that newborn for a few hours when she was only hours old. She slept in my arms for a whole two hours, and I swear she fit perfectly cradled in my arms. *sigh*

Otherwise, dealing with horrible withdrawal effects while waiting for my medication to arrive at my pharmacy. It's due to be there after 4 PM tonight. It better be there. AARGH.

I had an assignment that was cancelled (billable) this morning, so I am back in my jammies. Gonna make some jewelry and watch some Percy Jackson, again. LOL.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Oh, and I've been on an avocado kick lately. Anybody have any good vegetarian recipes using avocado?

I grilled some yellow peppers, red onions and zucchini - then mixed it with avocado, lime juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper....tasted yummy! I just got some cilantro and tomatoes, so I'm going to make a grilled veggie avocado concoction with them next.

So, we are getting more lake effect snow..

I went off the road today on the way to work.. not just slide of the road, like I fished tailed, did an 180 into the other lane, and crashed into the snow bank going sideways, the van finally stopped facing the opposite direction we were driving in.. Scary crap. I was going about 40mph, which is I thought was ok for the road conditions and at the time felt slow, but let me tell you.. 40mph in an out of control vehicles seems really fast. After the state troopers and the two truck came and got me out, I drove to school.. only to be sent home early as school closed and the weather and roads were even worse then coming into school. I am may not drive in snow again.. I keep getting these visions of the van spinning uncontrollably and I get scared all over again. Did I mention my daughter was in the van with me? She did fine, and I am so thankful neither of us were injured and she is still in a 5pt harness car seat so, she barley moved the whole time we were going off the road!

CE... I used precious metal clay, molded and carved it, used my kiln to bake it, and then I used a black ink to coat and wiped it down, and then I buffed it out.

I work with silver, pewter and bronze.

Afternoon couch.

Early release day today, so I got to come home early. I would have been home by now anyways, but I took a nap when I first got home. It wasn't early release for weather or anything. My school district does an early release the 2nd and last Wednesday of every month (except when there is state testing) so teachers can have professional development meetings and/or planning time. As an assistant...I just get to go home. Technically, I am supposed to stay until regular time as I am still being paid, but my principal tells me to just go home because the school has nothing for me to do, so I do. Can't beat that.

Granite, sorry about your dream.

Healed, that would have scared me half to death. I don't live where it snows, so I don't know how you feel. I have driven in flooded conditions before after a hard rain and hydroplanned before though. That was scary, so I can imagine yours was too.

So when you bake it, you get a metal surface but it's some kind of composite inside?

I may try to make my own capsaicin cream.
I don't want to take muscle relaxants and the alternative health person I see has not invited me to come live with her until the injury gets better and my partner has rejected my idea that she go learn injury massage and acupuncture.
I need a chemistry lab. And some super industrial horse liniment.

Healed...I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'd have been scared too.
Wiki...fellow jewelry maker...nice! You do techniques I haven't tried, clay molding and bead weaving.
Mast...
Granite...sorry about the dream. Almost every dream I've had about T has frightened or saddened me in some way.
Stop...sorry you're hurting. I wish you success on the capsaicin cream.
Everyone else...hi!

It's right now that I wish I had my own pair of ice skates so I could go skate out in my street and cul-de-sac. We never got snow. All ice. I went out to take pics and as soon as I stepped in the street, I almost slipped. The street is slick as eel s**t. H is stuck another night at work. At least he's going to get the weekend off.

Well...I was cleaning out a file and found 2 $50 savings bonds (one from 1994 and the other from 1995) from when I won the 5th and 6th grade science fair in elementary school. A local business the last two years I went to my school decided to give 1st place winners savings bonds. They have not final maturity yet, but I may cash them in anyways to get my prescription sunglasses. They are both worth more than face value...so it may be worth it. With the economy right now, they are only going to earn the minimum interest they are allowed to earn. They would only be worth $30 each more in 10 years at final maturity. So really is waiting 10 more years for $60 worth it? I am already going to get more than they are worth. Now if they were higher than $50 waiting 10 more years probably would be worth it, but $60 seems so minimal (only $6 a year) when I have something I want to get with it now. At least I am not like my brother who cashed his in the year after he got them and only got what the business paid for them ($25). Not asking what I should do, just expressing my thoughts. When I told my mom what I was thinking about doing she thought it was a good idea. I used the govt. treasury site to look up what they are worth, so I know in case the bank tries to tell me they are worth less. If I wait until Feb. 1st, I will get a little more interest, so I may do that, since it is not too far away, what's a couple more days? My eye dr. lets you order the glasses with a downpayment then you pay the remainder when they come in. So I could always go ahead and order them, and then cash the bonds after they come in.

Well, I need to go relax after a long day. I hope every one has a good evening/night/afternoon/morning/whatever applies.

Chopin - The ice storm looks like it's taken out most of the South. It is something.

Wikid and Granite and others- All you crafty guys are kind of impressive in that you even think to do stuff like it. I think I failed second grade art and never got into it again.

Jersey - If nothing blows up how will I know I had fun?

SD...H told me all the idiots apparently decided to get in their cars around 3pm. As our high today was 25, nothing melted and the idiots slid into various things (and each other). Unfortunately for him, it means he's stranded at the 911 center until Fri at 6:50 pm.

I just realized I never turned on the TV today at all. Nothing but blissful silence all day.

Hope you find something that helps. Do you take magnesium? It helps me when my muscles are tight or spastic from MS/fibromyalgia/arthritis/(old age--me, not you)? You probably would have way too much fun with a chemistry lab, but I tend to think that too much fun is a good thing.

I like your jewelry. I can tell that you take pride in your work. It's very well-made and beautiful. I don't make jewelry, but I used to make a fairly good profit from selling antique and vintage jewelry that I bought at thrift stores, garage sales, and auctions. Plus, I've done repairs and re-stringing. I have a tool that helps with knotting pearls, etc. I have more than a dozen reference books and have made money by helping people with "jewelry history and identification", one of my passions. I had business cards made and called my business "Jewelry With a Past". If I worked with only silver, I would have called it "A Tarnished Past". At the bottom of my cards, I put "Diamonds are forever; rhinestones are for everybody!" Unfortunately, when the economy tanked a few years ago, my sales tanked, too.
