I've been seeing my therapist again for the last 6 months after an absence of 10 years. We've discussed my present problems and therapist said I can space out my sessions now!! I'm missing the regular sessions.... and I really don't wish to quit. On the other hand I don't want to look ridiculous to keep on going when I don't have serious issues.... but that hour is meaningful to me!!

I suggest making a list of how therapy benifits you. Show that list to your T.
Also you can come up with a few long term goals as well as short term goals.
For example:
short term: In session this week I need to share how new family issues are making me feel.
long term: I would like to grow my self image into a more positive one.

Therapists like to have something solid for a goal that they can use for their records and as a general guideline. When therapy needs change, those goals need to sometimes be re-defined.

To my mind you don't have to "qualify" for therapy. You go because you find it helpful--or at least you hope it will be helpful! Is there a reason that your therapist is telling you how often you should be coming? Usually I think of that decision as client-driven especially if you are the one paying for it. I don't think it's at all ridiculous to continue therapy as a wellness strategy when you are basically okay. You can think about therapy like diet, exercise or meditation--you don't suddenly stop paying attention to these things because you have no serious health problem.

Perhaps you could work on abandonment issues?
(If you have any! )
