Just wanted to share that I had a really, really good session with T today after abruptly taking a 2 month break back in November. I was really looking forward to telling her how much better I was doing since the last time I saw her. It was SO good to see her! She opened the door and immediately gave me a big hug (which is not what we normally do, I think it was just because I had been away) and it felt lovely and so welcoming and warm We had a really great 2 hour session where I told her all the good stuff that had been happening, where I'm at and how positive I'm feeling at the moment. We talked about continuing therapy or not and she wants to leave it really free and open for me to decide when and how often to come and just to let her know as and when.

It was just SO SO good to see her

Wow, it feels great when a session goes so well and the T is engaged and understanding - and the spontaneous hug sounds such a lovely thing. I'm really happy for you!

Thanks everyone

I am now trying to decide whether to continue therapy for a while or just leave it until something big comes up that I need to deal with because right now I feel fine on my own. Hard though because I so enjoy seeing T and listening to her explanations and advice etc. But I'm going to be sensible and go it alone for a few weeks and see if I still feel good.
Thanks for this!
