I've had a little counseling in the past, but I'm having a Social Security disability interview and am seeking counseling mainly to get an evaluation of what I may have. My past counselors didn't use any terminology to classify me, so I don't know what they thought of me.

Does the SSA accept evaluations from private therapists as much as from governmental and which are generally better for therapy? I'm deciding between a private therapist and a place that's funded by local government. I have concerns about privacy and my rights as a patient.
