I was on my way to my T appt yesterday, and realized that my feet were getting quite cold, and my windows weren't staying clear. The blower quit working on the heater! I had to call and cancel T and turn around and drive home. After a while the heater worked for a bit, quit again, worked again... I called the repair shop and took the car in today, because I need it to work like it should. Also, the battery warning light was flickering on and off with no correlation to the heater problem, so asked the shop to check that out, too.

Because we've had such cold weather for so long, the local utility company asked customers to leave a faucet running in their home or business until further notice, even if the weather warms up. The cold is causing extreme frost depths, resulting in "service lateral freeze ups at an alarming rate". When this happens, there is absolutely no way to get running water until the below-ground pipes can be thawed out. They are going to base our bills on our water usage for this time of year as shown on last year's bill, so we won't have to pay for the extra water flow. I don't ever remember a utility problem like this, and I've lived in Wisconsin all my life.

Knowing that I was going to be stuck at home again for a while with this stupid cough, probably was one of the big reasons why I decided to go to the liquor store to get brandy and schnapps to take when the cough won't quit. The good thing is, I had one shot last night, and one tonight, and it is working to stop the nasty cough. I'm not getting drunk by any means, but I'm able to breathe, not cough, and sleep. Yay!

Sending warm and healing thoughts and hugs to all who need/want them.

I know how you feel, I had to cancel my session for last Monday due to the weather and as of right now there is still a chance that I may have to for this Monday as well.

I'm sorry you had to cancel your session again. That's tough. The weather is ridiculous this winter, all over the US!! I'm glad your cough is getting better.

Holy cannoli! I thought my showers are colder even tho im pretty sure i turn the handles the same way ie that the cold water is colder. I wonder if its related to that big glacier melt - all that ice falling into the water?

Because it's been so cold for so long, the frost depth is much deeper than usual, so the pipes that are normally deep enough to be protected, are now surrounded by frost, ice, or colder than normal air. So, it makes sense that the cold water coming from the faucet is colder than usual. So don't worry, it's not just your imagination!

Fortunately for me it does look like the weather will cooperate enough for me to make it to my next Therapy session scheduled for Monday afternoon.
