I'm sorry for bothering everyone. I have seen my therapist the last two weeks even though I originally was going to wait until after winter break which was really long. I called my therapist because I was falling apart without therapy. So I've been seeing her every week like before winter break. I see her Wednesday. I go back to school Monday but I am going to commute now. My therapist knows I have trouble with only being able to see her once a week so she gave me a list of therapists who specialize in OCD. She said I could see her and the OCD therapist too. She also one time said there was a therapist close to where I live that she thought would be a good match but that therapist doesn't specialize in OCD. Neither does my current therapist. Maybe I could see that other therapist in the summer because my therapist works at the school so to see her in the summer I would have to go to the other place she works at which is like an hour or two away or something. I wish I could see my current therapist even in the summer and also see an OCD therapist but I don't know if that's a good idea since it is so far away. Basically to sum it up, do you think it is a good idea to see my therapist the rest of the school year and also see an OCD therapist from the list. And in the summer should I continue seeing my therapist just far away or see the one she thinks would be a good match. I just really trust my therapist and continuing to see her would be great. I would feel more comfortable seeing the therapist that is a match since my therapist knows her. But I should also see a therapist that specializes in OCD. It's just scary because my therapist doesn't know the therapists on the list. Sorry this is so long and unorganized. What do you think I should do? I want to talk to my therapist about this on Wednesday but I want to be prepared.

Work with the T that you have a good relationship with and trust. Therapy is much more effective when you aren't taking super long breaks. As for seeing the OCD T along with her, that might not be a bad idea.

I think continuity is really important. If there is a way that you could make the drive to see her, then it would probably be beneficial. I drive about an hour to see my therapist every week because I can't stomach the idea of starting over with another one.
On the days that I have to go to therapy I just try to find a way to make the travel fun. I have a coffee shop in the town that I like to go to, so I try to leave with enough time to stop there for a little reward for getting out and doing it. If you like the T that much, then I would say that it might be worth the extra travel (as long as it is not too far away).

I took a leave of absence from school and now I still see my therapist from school in her office in another town once a week and a new therapist who specializes in OCD once a week too. I will probably do this until I go back to school, hopefully in September and then I will probably only see my school therapist again.
