I've read about late sessions, but how about early sessions. I had to reschedule a session (which usually is 1 or 2 pm) to 8am (only one left available on each day). Has anyone ever had to switch to a 'sunrise' session? That would mean I'd have to leave my house 7:30 at the latest... Can early sessions still be quite productive sessions or maybe not as much?

I always take the last session of the day (7p) because I don't want to dwell over my therapy all day while at work. I get up at 5a so an 8a wouldn't be a big deal, but still.
Thanks for this!

Ive had a couple of morning sessions. I dont like them much due to having to continue your day around the whole world after talking about things that make you want to hide. My line of work is tough stuff with clients I work with, and being raw after seeing T is not how I like it. But - having it so early in the morning means that there is no easy small talk about how the day has been etc because its the start of the day, so maybe getting straight in to it.
I think its just what you feel comfortable with really
Thanks for this!

I prefer the 8 ams. That way it can be the start of the day. I had to go to a midday appointment this week and it was hard to switch modes.

LOL I hear you!

I see CBT T at 7am and he's pretty bright and chipper--lots of energy!

I talk to main T at 5am my time/8am his time---I am more worried about my functionality than either T's!

I prefer end of day sessions but with my work schedule, this keeps therapy from encroaching on work hours.
Thanks for this!

I have once had an 9 am appointment on a Saturday. However, I usually go during the week and then she only has evening hours. No fond of morning appointments..
Thanks for this!

if you are a morning person it could be productive .. if not it might be a bit hard; I wouldn't like it

I didn't have to many of them (~6), but I use to go with my kid to 7 and 7:30 appt. And they were fine. The therapists were always alert and at their best.

The earliest i have ever been able to get my t to a session is at 945, and even then i had to drive to her house, call her on her cell, harass that lady to get up and get a move on and tell her i was waiting for her outside her door with coffee and chocolate. She just doesnt like to get out of bed before ten.
We are both night people.

I prefer early morning appts- either 8 or 9am. That way I'm not as anxious waiting all day for my appt to start.
