I'm going to have another therapy next week even though I'm feeling better. I'm not 'cured' by all means (still not the same as before) but I'm managing pretty well these days.
I feel that my T is just going to tell me to continue what I'm doing and there's nothing more to talk about. I have no serious issues that need to be dealt with, apart from my current anxiety, and I feel those other issues are not therapy-material. The therapy I'm going to is also for free. It's by an organization that seeks to help people with mental disorders. However, therapy has been a very positive experience for me. It gave me something to look forward to. The act of going to therapy may have contributed more to my recovery rather than the actual advice given by my T. I also don't have many friends here (I'm working in a foreign country) more so, those who would understand what I'm going through. Therapy has given me an outlet to say whatever I want to a person who can truly understand. Stopping therapy, I feel, would make me sad even if I only had a few sessions. ![]() Anyway, I still feel it's unfair to go there just to have someone to talk to especially that it's free. Maybe I should end this therapy and find a paid T? Then, I wouldn't feel so guilty. |

Getting a paid T is certainly worth thinking about.

Paid Therapy is always better, I myself can't afford it so I have to go where I can see someone for free (with my medical assistance).

I don't see why you should get another therapist if this therapy is improving your life and helping with your anxiety. That paid therapy always is better is provably incorrect.
Can you discuss this with your therapist? I remember you posting before about feeling that your anxiety provoking issues were not worth going to therapy over, because the issues you first sought therapy about were hindering your life so much. Other problems seemed less important for you. Did I understand that right? My therapist keeps telling me that anything that hinders me from living a full life is fodder for therapy. I think your T would be interested in discussing this with you, too. |
