Maybe you are getting more out of therapy than you thought. Or if you are like me, I just don't like my schedule to be changed even if it's for the better. Because of the icy weather, I had to cancel an appointment I had been dreading for a medical test. It left bummed out the rest of the day. Don't know why. It's just the way I am.

This sounds 100% normal to me. Although therapy is hard work and the topics are sometimes upsetting, the therapist is a safe, supportive person and it's often a relief to do the work and have a place to vent. So, I completely understand feeling let down when having this valuable resource taken away. I hope you'll find another pleasurable/comforting activity to substitute and perhaps you might find it helpful to write out what you wanted to discuss or are concerned about right now, either to email your therapist if he allows, or to save for next session, just to get it off your mind and onto paper for now.

I'm like that sometimes especially when discusing difficult subjects. You don't like it but you do want to get it done and it's an appointment you anticipate so yep, it's a bit of a mind-spinner.
Thanks for this!
