today has been a pretty rough day. First my 15 year old son is going away for the weekend with his church youth group leadership team. They are 5 hours away from home and staying in private homes. I have a very hard time letting my kids stay at homes of people I know...never mind complete strangers. My anxiety level has been through the roof..

Also this weekend my daughter should find out if she has been accepted to her favorite college. Fortunately, she found out yesterday that her second choice school gave her an amazing financial aid package.

I am so thankful I have T. I emailed her this morning explaining how I was feeling. We have been emailing back and forth all day....she keeps reminding me that my son knows what to do if anything were to happen...also My daughter was not accepted to hone of her colleges today it is the fist college that she has not been accepted to. I told t I was afraid of bothering her...she said If she thought I was bothering her that she would tell me.....plus she has told me for weeks to keep her updated on my daughters college search..

Don't know how I could have gotten through my work day without her...

One school gave her an amazing financial package and another rejected her??? WHAT??? That makes no sense! Unless the school the rejected her was Yale or something, she sounds like she should be a great candidate for most schools.

The school that gave her the awesome financial aid package has a higher acceptance rate. Plus also has things like a marching band. My kid was in marching band for 3 years plus has a great LCSW program which kiddo wants to study. However, for financial reasons her getting the financial package she received is pretty much unheard of.

The school that turned her down is not Yale but one tear down in the "class" of colleges. It has lower acceptance rate but has tons of money to give for financial aid. However, they do not have a marching band and she could only get a bachelors degree in psychology and then switch to another college for her masters degree.

Well, it sounds like the one she got accepted to is the better choice, then. I hope she gets into her #1 choice, though.

Thanks HazelGirl...she was not accepted to her first choice either. She actually told me that part of her hoped that her 1st choice would turn her down. Originally when she selected the schools she was looking at what schools typically offer students for financial aid. The one she will be going to is a public university but is ranked as one of the best in the country and does a lot of research. They have one of the best known researchers on abuse in the country.... Since it is also one of the most expensive public schools in the country we figured there was no way she could afford it.

That's great! I am glad the financial package will help considerably with that!
