I just wanted to share parts of email I got tonight from my ex therapist.

Me: As for me, many times I wish I was still in therapy with you. I miss our laughter. We are both just so busy to catch up with each other. As a client....

Whenever you have time, we can grab a hotdog on X street and take it to the park across the street, and talk.

Xxxxoooo,

GTGT

Therapist: You need to know I miss having you in therapy as well - your laughter and all the wonderful bits of information you had about things of which I knew nothing. Enriched my life - you and what you knew.

A dog in the park and time to visit sounds like a wonderful idea. I have a couple of crazy weeks looming ahead, but then I'm hoping to start booking in some free time.

Love,
FM

This is from a longer email that she sent me on information she thought I might be interested to know.

That's true.

Well, in some cases, anyway.
I'm a little surprised by your ex-therapist's willingness to hang out and catch up though. Usually the therapist missing certain clients is done in private, maybe told to the client if therapeutic.

You sound pretty excited about this (honestly, I would be excited if I were you) and I hope this exchange and potential meetup are good for you.
Thanks for this!

GTGT: It's so nice to hear that your T was thinking of you and values your relationship.

I'm no longer her client. We are friends now. We've gotten together a few times since we ended therapy, but we both have been so busy. Everything she has done for me so far has been good for me. It was developing trust in another human being. The relationship has not been lopsided at all. We have a fun time when we meet up or talk on the phone. But as most that have read some of my post know I had unconventional therapy — different strokes for different folks.

Excited no, pleased yes. It is nice to know that someone I spilled my guts to, telling my dark side to, and shared a lot of laughs with misses me.
Thanks for this!

Ah, pleased also sounds like it. I suppose there's more room for interpretation in a text, without seeing or hearing you. I'm glad things are going well for you.
