So, I'm considering canceling tomorrow evenings session with T. Gma had an episode early this morning and is in the hospital for overnight observation. If she comes home tomorrow which she should...she would end up alone for 30-60 minutes when I go to see T. I'm just not sure that should happen so close to this episode. Sorry, just super high anxiety. Don't do well being away from gma period. Add that she's had this episode and I'm a wreck even with her I just hide it from her.

Idk - its a fairly short period of time, and she will probably be napping. For 30 minutes, maybe your mom could ask s neighbor to step in? I totally get it, because i would be the same as you - i have to totally stop my life, thats the only right thing to do - but i dont think thats how normal people handle things.
 Eta - can you call your t and ask her opinion? Thats what i would probably do - have him talk me back to reality when im freaking out with indecision And stress. |

i'm sorry your grandma is sick. you sound really close to her and like you are doing a great job taking care of her. i think you'll make the right decision as to what to do.

I cancelled T tomorrow but I will leave hospital tomorrow morning when my mom and her sister show up between 8 & 9. My grandma is my world especially the last 2 years or so. I'm her primary caretaker during the week and I dread the day she has to go to a nursing home probably end of this year...beginning of next year.

I know you've cancelled now; but if something like this happens again where you need to stay with your grandma would your T be open to a phone session? that way you could stay in the house and be available if needed but also have your session

You know I'm sure she would. Thanks for the suggestion! Emotionally I probly should've gone tomorrow but I just would have worried about grandma the whole time so may have ended up a waste of time. I can call her anytime if I really need to.

She is so awesome. I've never called her outside a session but she has always said if I really need her to call.

Took a huge step last night. They didn't send grandma home like they originally planned and I stayed home to sleep in my bed. EXTREMELY anxiety producing! But I FACED it instead of running to grandma to relieve it. I took care of myself and got some sleep. Now to figure out what skills work best for that anxiety...not sure yet.
