So, I had a dream that I was temporarily living with my pdoc....eek!

In the dream, I would go from room to room in an unfamiliar house, and then remember that I was staying with her, and that she would be home soon, and then I would feel very calm and safe.

I definitely have some maternal transference to her...(ok, a lot!)....but have never had a dream about her before! This feels strange!

I've had two or three dreams about my therapist during the past year, mostly calming too. It makes sense to me they'd enter our subconscious as a symbol of comfort given the supportive nature of the relationship. However, my own therapist would note that our dreams typically represent aspects of ourselves and help us process our waking life as well as show us where we are in different, symbolic ways. She talks about houses as representative of our lives, and people as parts of ourselves.

Anyhow, sounds like a nice dream, even if you were a bit surprised by it.

I've dreamed about my T a few times too. Since we do dream work, I've told her about them, one in particular she was really affected by. I do love dreams and dream work!! Glad yours was calming for you.
