I am finding it so difficult to talk my T just says I have to make the choice and that I don't have to be in Therapy!
It been over 5 years now in once weekly therapy with the same T and I feel so stuck...

What are you having troubles talking about? Would writing it down first help?

Would you please tell us more about your situation? Do you see her weekly? What type of issues are you dealing with? Do you talk about things and just find it challenging, or is it so hard that you don't talk about certain things?

Do you trust her? I'm wondering if you feel unsafe with her and why.

It does seem like a long time to struggle with that and I'm wondering if she's supportive enough and you two have built a strong enough, trusting relationship.

Have you made progress in your therapy? Are you feeling stronger, healthier, happier than five years ago?

Thanks for your replies yes I have tried writing things down and it helps a bit...
I see him weekly, Trauma issues. I find it so difficult to talk and always have... It has got easier and I have made good progress I think but still find the negative transference hard to deal with... It makes it hard to feel safe. I think he is getting inpatient and the more I feel that the harder I find it.

what's the worst thing you think might happen, if you open up a bit and talk more?

The worst thing would be completely breaking down in tears and then not being able to contain my feelings, afraid I'll be unable to cope emotionally and be extremely sensitive.

I can understand. I don't think trauma ever gets to the point where it's easy to talk about. It only ever gets a little less difficult. So keep at it. It sounds like you are making good progress.
