My T works two jobs. She has her clients Mon-Fri, 9-5 and works at night and on weekends! WOW my T never ceases to amaze me and be my role model.

WOW, although sometimes I don't want someone who is too overworked because it means that they may tire out during session.

That doesn't sound very healthy, actually. Just my opinion, but working that much makes me think she is trying to hide from or run from something. I don't know her so I could be off base, but people who work that much often have issues and problems they are disguising in their workload.

My T is as well..she works 4 nine hour shifts at her full time job. Then she works about 10 hours at a local college on day 5. Then she has her private practice two evenings a week (4 hours) and once a month she sees clients for a few hours on Saturday...

Mine is also a workaholic. He works part time in his private practice, and also has his full time government job. I don't envy his wife and kids.

My T is like this right now too. But she is transitioning to private practice. From what I understand she should be quitting her day job one of these days. It came up a while ago in session that she was working so much. We talked about it, and she was really receptive to my concerns. I'm glad we had a chance to talk about it.

Are you worried about her burning out? Or are you admiring her strength?

I don't think I would see such a schedule as good thing. I am all for people working as much as they need to in order to support their children or pay off huge debt etc, but as a goal for a way of life -I think it is perhaps not as impressive as living a more well rounded balanced life.
