Very nice! You definitely have some talent with painting! I paint sometimes as well, but I'm horrible at it (still fun though).

Sweepy I really love your paintings. They evoke such emotions and I mean that in a good way. there is such a broad range of feelings I get from this set that truly it makes me feel like I'm not alone in wherever my crazy emotions might go!! thank you so much for sharing your work. I wish I could draw/paint - I had a dream a few nights ago that I have been trying to draw something from and it's so frustrating not being able to put to paper what i see in my head.
Thanks for this!

Love the bright colors in the first 2 pictures.....one reminds me of a bird of paradise & the second of a peacock feather (in the design shape). Third one reminds me of a tornado in some ways.....definitely has a feeling of a strong wind in it.....& the last one....really hit me....the California freeway system.

Very interesting.....I like your art work. I never got the hang of just painting....I always have to paint something like a flower or some sort of scene........never just painted to see what came out of it....it's definitely an art to be able to do that.

those are really cool! Thanks for sharing. It's also awesome that you were able to sell one, even if it was a difficult step.

I love the first one the most! But they're all beautiful! I think my second favorite is the second one.

thank you, i have alot of pent up emotion , yep, the other night, i had so much tension that i painted something full of red black, my t said it showed lots of powerful emotion, oh and lots of yellow and orange, i didnt post here , because i thought it was ugly. I have lots of stressors at home right now, maybe it represented that.

Oh, Sweepy, they are all beautiful. My favorite is the first one, too. I'm not sure why that struck a chord with me because I usally go for more subdued colors. Just the feeling behind it I think.

I do landscapes, or used to when I felt better. Sold a few but still have my favorites. Your post makes me want to grab my brush. Thanks for sharing.

Sweepy what's ur medium? Oils?

I like them a lot. Thy look like oils and if they are I'm jealous. I never have figured out oils. I'm strictly acrylic. The feel and color blending are so much more a part of me than oils or any other medium. Would u like to see some?

no way oils, dont have patience for oils, i use liquitex acrylics, first i prime the canvas , then i varnish when the painting dries, these were not varnished yet. thank you for liking them

Wow, Sweepy! Your paintings are so interesting! It woud be great if you did some reduced size ones and sold them as greeting cards. I think you should sell them as big canvas paintings too.
Thanks for this!

Lol I agree no patience for oils. I also use liquitex acrylics. I but already primed canvas just because it won't absorb the water from the paints. Then I choose a base color and before it dries completely I start aggressively painting with my chosen colors. I believe in my profile pictures I have most of my recent paintings.

Every few yrs I try oils again. I was into oil pastels for a bit but only on Bristol board. I dream of painting one of those extremely large canvas'. But they are too expensive and as much as I would love to make a living off my paintings I don't really want to part with them. They are all spontaneous in the nomen paintings that I will never be able to replicate.
Thanks for this!

sweepy, I too love your paintings!!! They're so expressive!! I especially like the first one with the bright colors. You are very talented! My T gave me a book about painting for process; I forgot the name. I usually want to make my paintings realistic but I've tried some experimenting the other way. I just did one and it's scary; I seem to want to make weird squiggles out of my brush strokes; they look like worms/creepy crawly things!

I'm still doing 9 x 12 watercolors. I don't want to spend a lot of money on big paper yet. I have some acrylics in the house, and some canvas, and will get to them eventually. Long ago, I used them.

Do you or anyone know why they sell watercolor paper in size 9 x 12 but it's almost impossible to buy a frame that size? Most photos are 8 x 10 or 11 x 14 so the frames are made for photos, not art. But it's so frustrating. I have to make my paintings smaller to fit in that size. Why don't they sell watercolor paper in sizes that fit frames? Not everyone can afford custom frames!!!

I've found a 9X12 at a the craft store Micheal's. I don't know if they have that where you are. But maybe just some craft place that does framing. Big stores like target never have that size, but I'm pretty sure that if you go somewhere that does framing you can find it. Also you could try looking online.
Thanks for this!
