This is the best way to describe her. I appreciate her being this way but sometimes I wonder why I am not as cool as T, and if I can somehow practice being as cool as her. She dresses well, is smart, and funny.

Sure you can practice being cool like T! She's a role model too. Did you read when I told my story of wearing my wedding ring only on days I went to T because I liked the look of T's hand with her band on? A friend at work saw it and exclaimed, "I've never seen you wear your ring" and I almost answered, "I only wear it on Friday's!" but my head stopped me at the ridiculousness of saying that and I started to laugh. Of course, I had to tell my coworker the "joke" and we both laughed. Later that day I told my T the whole story (including how I admired the look of strength her hands made me feel) and she and I laughed at what I almost replied and she said it would have sounded like I was part of some cult or something

I don't find the ones I see to be cool at all nor to be my role models, but there is no reason why you cannot strive to emulate the therapist if you would find it useful.

One of my goals in therapy is to actually STOP being cool. I think the only way you can be truly awesome is just to be yourself. And when you're being "cool" you're shutting down a piece of who you truly are.

So I guess my goal is to embrace anti-cool, which means embracing life.

I second that!

What if being yourself is being cool, like for those who are naturally cool?
Thanks for this!
