I do this just like you described, it's horrible. My T is still getting used to recognising the signs and I think that is key to getting help with it.
Can you speak to her next session about what happens exactly so she can look out for it? Like I've worked out that when I get really quiet that's her cue to check for dissociation. other signs are when I kind of stare of into space or get really still. At least if your T knows what she's looking out for she can deal with it and help you rather than you trying to bring yourself out it.

I had an appointment today, but ended up not having an opportunity to talk about it. I didn't get the chance, but I did talk about some of the things I mentioned above about wanting to appear put together and "well", despite my past. I may send her a text mentioning some of this and asking if we can talk about it next week.

Hey...

Yes, this happens to me as well...but I shut my eyes and shake because it terrifies me and I feel terribly vulnerable frozen in place.

T and I have had frank discussions about how he can help me.
!. I do not want him to leave me, because I am afraid..
2. He is allowed to ask and to touch my upper arm or knee..someplace safe..sometimes he gives me a finger to hold onto...
3..he helps me try to breathe more slowly and talks slowly so that I have time to process what he is saying..
4. I often kick off my shoes to keep my feet on the carpet even before we talk to make sure to try and stay grounded...
5. He soothes me or tells me a story to help me come back to listen...
6. Loud noises cause panic...even him pushing away in his desk chair make me feel abandoned...
7. he can try to get me to look at him in the face, but rarely able to.
8. he can hand me a stone or hand squeezy thing so that I don't dig my nails into arms or whatever.
9. I am not allowed to hurt myself to get back.

that helps a bit...to just know that he is my protector while I'm away...

Well, I sent her a text today. That was surprisingly scary. Why is this so hard to talk about?!? I don't even know why I'm so anxious about it.
