What are the weirdest things you have ever had to explain to your T?

For me, I had to explain to her today that the embarrassed emoji (😳 for all your iPhone users) did not mean "shocking and traumatic", like she wanted it to. I suggested this one instead: 😱

What other weird things have you had to explain or teach your T about?

Lol! I find it funny that my T, who I am fairly certain is over 50, uses them.

Okay. What the heck is an emoji?

I've tried to explain the finer points of marching band contests and Beethoven symphonies, but he's hopeless when it comes to music.

Both are acceptable. They started being called emoji's because there was an app called emoji for iPhone that unlocked them on your phone. That's where the "emoji" word started (I think).

Ah. That would explain why I'm clueless. I don't have an iPhone. I have a dumb phone (and it's all I need).
Thanks for this!

I was trying to explain laminar flow to him a month or so ago...
Yeah, I don't know either. There's gotta be a million better ways to say 'not having any problems'.

I imagine it has something to do with the 'gelding' process. Gonna leave that one alone...

That another word for see saw is teeter totter. I actually never heard of the word see saw till she said it.

That Dora the explorer is named Dora because exploradora in Spanish is explorer.

That "no wine left behind" is not a good motto.

How to do powercleans. Hmm

It was the iPhone emoji app that I showed my T.

I love this thread, especially the hula hooping.

I think I thought her a few things over the last three years:

- what walt disney world is like (part of me still wonders if she was playiing dumb to see what wdw meant to me. Come on who doesn't know WDW???)
-that there are two kinds of bridles she can use on her horse that has neck problems
- that her mare's foal being two weeks late is nothing to worry about
that dbt apps exist
-who the backstreet boys are, and what it's like to go on a cruise with them
Thanks for this!

I think maybe I should have used a TRIGGER WARNING. Sheath cleaning involves cleaning a neutered male horse's private areas that are tucked up inside the sheath.

For those who are interested, there is an incredibly funny (to horse people anyway) song and video out there:

I actually sent that link to my T after our session. At the next session, he told me my horse's penis was FINE and I should keep my hand OUT OF THERE.
Thanks for this!
