New T on Thursday. A male T specialized in PTSD.
I had to leave my ex-T because her therapeutic techniques made my PTSD worse, not better.

forgot how much i liked this thread.

i don't know when i'm next seeing my T. as i'm getting discharged from my unit in like 2-3 weeks, probably 3 weeks to go. haven't had a session since 4th december

Usually Thursdays had to get a Tuesday next week. She gave me homework to break new ground. Im nervous. Really needing a break from T.

What homework? I have a love/hate relationship with homework from t. On one hand, I love that it makes me think and grow outside of session and is a way to stay connected with t. On the other hand, it is one more thing I feel bad about when I don't do it. We rarely discuss the homework in the session that follows, however, so it is more for myself and for me if I want to do it. Because of this I rarely do it, and yet still feel bad about not doing it.
As for needing a break from T, any particular reason? Just wondering. Hope it gets better soon. Sounds like you are really dreading what is up ahead.

Angelic...Homework=describing cognitive distortions. One for my thoughts about her, one for about work. I told her I needed a break b/c of the erotic transference and over-reliance on her. She said this is time to push thru my resistance not take a break. She is really a Freudian although she says eclectic. I have SAD so depressed, anxious. I may bring the exercises in two sealed envelopes for her to keep and open when I say it's okay during a session.
