It's not so much that I want transference to occur it is that I want someone who I feel most comfortable opening up to, and I do believe that means someone who is female and close to my age.

Well the practice called me back and they set me up with someone else (who is female), I don't have my first session with her until July 7th but I will let everyone know how it goes.

I should also say that since I have had success with Female Therapists in the past than why should I try to see a Male (thinking that I might not be as successful with them since I have had issues with other males in the Health Care profession before). Anyways I am happy that she decided to re-assign me to a Female, we will have to see how the first session goes.

No one knows what goes on in your therapy. But your posts here always seem to detail ways in which you deflect attention from yourself and whatever your issues are, and try to get your T to fill some specific role in your mind. If you've had issues with males in other situations, that can be exactly a reason to seek out a male T--to work through those issues.

Could be but I was just assigned a Female so I will have to see how that goes.
