speaking of between-session phone calls.... it's so funny to me.... that it seems like every time I have called her when I want her to answer, I get her voice mail, but if I hope to just leave a voice mail, she ANSWERS darn her! I wonder how does that work?!?!?!?!

My T doesn't charge for emails, texts, or calls. She encourages me to call her when I really need it (actually, I usually text asking for a call back when it's convenient) and I don't do that very often. I can email as often as I want and as much as I want. She replies to perhaps half my emails. some of my emails or shorter or don't require a long response. I always write a processing email after each session, which is longer. She'll always reply and her reply isn't brief. And after she replies, I might respond to a couple of things. For example, after Friday's session we had an exchange that had 2 big emails (my original one and her response) + plus a few smaller ones and it totaled 1,500 words in about 24 hours - probably 2/3 my words and 1/3 hers. I really appreciate her willingness to be available like this. It has helped me enormously - both to reach out and ask for help and also to show me that I'm worth it and lovable.

My therapist doesn't like email's unless it's about appointments. She doesn't mind that I email her but for the most part, she doesn't respond. I don't know if she text but I have no interest in going there and if I ever need extra support~ I'd call her.
She does not charge to read my emails but I've never called her for extra support so I am not sure how she handles that.

One time I actually timed when to call her so she would be in a session and couldn't answer the phone.... She answered the phone! She took that day off from work...perfect timing...NOT. I repeated over and over again "You weren't supposed to pick up the phone!" She told me to get over it....LOL
