It's boiling hot today and I'm just wearing shorts and a top. Sorry, i know i'm being so paranoid, but do you think that is appropriate/okay? We will be discussing CSA so thats why im worried about exposing too much, or her thinking im doing it deliberately as i always wear jeans.

Yes, I think it's absolutely fine. To me, the key is for you to feel comfortable.

My therapist assigned wearing shorts to my next session as homework last summer.

Wear what you want, its your therapy!

Of course it is. I believe one can wear whatever one wants.

And dresses appropriate to the weather is one of the checklist items often used by them.

I do, but they are baggy cargo shorts that hang past my knees. But yeah, that and a tank top and walking sandals. I used to feel funny about putting my arms over my head, but after ten years im okay with even that, altho i do notice myself doing it.

Eh, I personally wear shorts only for working in the garden and excercise, but if you normally wear then, why not.

I think as long as your not having anything indecent showing, you're good
I understand the concern though. I usually always wear capris and don't show a lot of skin. And one day I walked in with a tank and short tiny shorts on because it was 102F. I could see my T pause a second like "whoa". Not in a bad way, I think she thought one of my rebellious teen alters showed up or something.

There isn't much of a dress code. I wear shorts and a t-shirt everytime. Probably the same pair. With my state of mind, I could care less.

Come as you are.....that's the whole point. It's all about who YOU are and take it from there. Actually, I would bring that question up in session and see what answer you get.

As long as they're not ridiculously short...why not? It's summer! I would die if I had to walk around in jeans all the time in this 108 degree weather. Either that, or a long dress could also be just as comfortable, but not as "showy," as you might fear? I think you'll be fine, either way!

I wear whatever I feel like wearing. But then, I've gone in public in my PJ's before...LOL

Stopdog, I'm curious about this check list? What kinda things they checkin us out about?

I will say although I dress about as casual as one can get, I am always freshly showered and my clothes are clean. She always tells me I smell good. Well, I am one who doesn't wish to stink! LOL

I will say I have a homemade tattoo on my upper arm that I'm very self conscious about now (did it at 18, I'm 40 now). So I do NOT wear tank tops or anything without sleeves in public. she has seen it (accidentally on my part) and commented on it, so we had a bit of a discussion about it...she says I ought not be ashamed.I STILL don't wear tanks or straps in public.

I don't see why it wouldn't be appropriate, lots of people wear shorts on hot days who normally wear pants otherwise. The only way you'd be exposing too much would be like if you're not wearing underwear and the shorts are so short it exposes that area.

I also don't know what CSA is or why that would make shorts inappropriate.

I understand being paranoid. I avoided wearing tank tops for the longest time because of my transference issues. But I live in the freakin' desert, and it's hot!
I say wear whatever you're comfortable in.

Not Stopdog but I can tell you that for our patients the doctors assess if the patient is dressed appropriately (for season etc), is well groomed or not. In general being well groomed is a sign of mood. We also watch the progress of the appearance. If they start showering, shaving, etc it is a good sign.

I don't regularly wear shorts but then again I don't wear a lot of short in general but I wear capris and summer dresses a lot...shorts are absolutely fine to wear though.

Wear a ghillie suit suit for camouflage if it makes you comfortable. If they say anything about it, you'll blend right in!

But they won't, because you're paying for the session and you can wear whatever you want as long as it's covering your unwhisperables.

as long as your breasts are not hanging out, and your butt cheeks are not hanging out, you can wear whatever you want.

I've worn denim shorts in the summer. It's winter here now. Leggins or jeans and a long top.
