Purple I feel the same, I feel so ashamed.
At the weekend my friends husband said 'what are those cuts on your arm?' And he was quite sort of accusatory about it, it was really awful. My husband has never mentioned that he's noticed them except once when it was bad and he just said 'is you arm okay?'. I will try and bring it up next week. But it's scary. ![]() |

i know it's hard and scary.
you are doing the best you can in the situation you're in. i guess that's what i go back to. it's what i had to do to survive. it's what you've had to do to survive. it's comforting. and people don't get that. but a good t, i think, can see that and won't shame you for it. i hope your t can help you work through it.

I have only cut a few times when things have been really bad. I have a hard time bringing it up to T. The first time I brought it up I sent her an email telling her that I know I should be telling her this in a session but it was difficult and hubby had seen the cuts on my ankle. So I wanted to give her a heads up and that we could discuss it is session. She thanked me for bringing it to attention since she knew how hard it is for me and that we would discuss it at our next session. We was very reassuring and understand of why I cut but tried to find alternatives, etc.
The last time I cut it was on my stomach (I do it in areas nobody will see them) and it was pretty significant. It was very painful for a week and was difficult to hide from T. Eventually after a couple of weeks I brought it up to T in my session.
