Surprisingly good session....

Tonight was actually a good session, but I told her I don't want to email anymore. and she said, "but i thought that was important to you." And she wanted to know why I didn't tell her the things I didn't like about the agreement on Monday (bc I thought she would just take e-mail away completely).

We didn't end up finishing that line of conversation though, so right now it's left at no more e-mail, but she said that is a reactive decision and people don't usually like the results of reactive decisions so we can talk about it again next session.

And she offered a hug at the end instead of me asking.

At the beginning of session I reminded her I was recording, and she made a bunch of weird noises in the beginning and at the end she started singing blue moon.

Awesome!! This sounds great! Blue Moon....lol

What does she mean by "reactive decision"?

I'm not her, but if I could guess, she might mean a decision made out of emotional reactions and not based on deciding what is best after weighing the pros and cons. So like deciding you will stop talking to someone because they made you angry when it would be better for you to approach them and discuss the problem.

Yes, that is exactly what she means. That I often get mad in session and abruptly quit therapy (or in this case, quit email) so she doesn't let those decisions stand bc I say them in a state of high emotional reactivity and probably don't mean them.
