The phone rang at 12:45 am last night. That's never good news so I let the voice mail pick up to screen the call. It was T. She said my phone number appeared on her phone...and did I call? We talked for a bit about how I have been doing.
I haven't called her this week because I phoned her so much last week.

It was nice to hear from her. I think she's concerned, especially due to the knews about Robin Williams.

T, you can call whenever you want. You aren't bothering me and I'm glad to talk to you.

wow, cool. I am not sure I would feel comfortable with a t calling that late (even if I were having a really difficult time, unless maybe I knew T was regularly awake and checking in on people at that hour), but I'm glad she is so in-tune with you, and willing to support you as needed.
Thanks for this!

I don't remember a T ever doing this before, but I don't mind. Then again, maybe her phone really did mess up.

It actually helped to hear from her. I'm glad she cares about me.

Does anyone else's T randomly contact them?

I have not had a t randomly contact me to check-in (at least not that I can remember, I may have had a previous T contact me when I was haveing a really bad time, but unsure if it was ever not initiated by me), but I did have a recent T call unexpectedly to check in on a medical issue I had said I was going to have checked out. I must have worried her in session, because she made me promise to go to the ER, and then she called the next day to see how things went. It wasn't really a random call, but definitely not one I initiated or asked for.
Thanks for this!

I am glad it was good for you. For me, one of the first things I made sure would not happen is that the therapist would intrude upon my real life unbidden. I would not like it at all.

She has texted me out of the blue a couple times to suggest I read something , or to clarify an appt when she likely thought I would accidentally on purpose forget. But it's rare.

the latest my T has responded to a call is about 10 pm. I would freak out if she called any later than that, but we've never discussed it.

My T has Emailed me after midnight. I've never received a call, but she's on vacation right now, and right at the beginning texted me some photos of a landmark she was at. She knew I'd like to see it. I wish she'd Email and check in now. I don't want to bother her because she's on vacation.....but I do keep hoping I get just a little blurb from her this week. Pathetic, I know.

To be honest it did feel a tiny bit freaky. If I had called her I could totally understand her calling that late/early.

It was probably just an accident and won't happen again unless I ask her to call me.

No, my T wouldn't call me for any reason unless I ASKED her to. I am friendly with her, but not friends. I like to set boundaries, and I'm sure she does too.
