T suggested a while ago I needed to process a traumatic past event. Then I had a cold sore outbreak, not sleeping well, etc. he asked do we need to push through (and I feel a lot worse before it gets better), or pack it away for another time. I'm tempted to put it away. Then I'll feel better.

You might feel better in the short term, but it will not go away on it's own. As much as I'd love to pack up my trauma and ship it away, it won't let me. I've avoided too many things for too long and it always finds ways to slip into my life and remind me.....

I would say that for every one it's different, but if it is surfacing, that might be a sign you are ready...just a thought
Thanks for this!

I dread the thought of talking any more about it. Should I ask if he's ready to deal with it too? (T)

How do you know when you're ready?

But you need to make sure you are properly resourced to look at it.
