Tell me to stop texting my T!

I want to so badly right now because I read an article about gaslighting and it describes what my childhood was like so well. But this isn't new news, I already knew that. But I want to text my T and tell her about it to distract from the feelings. What I need to do is sit down and deal with them, rather than try to distract from them.

Ugh.

Can you journal about your feelings? Maybe write a letter to your t that you can share next time you have a session?

Well, I ended up texting her and telling her I am bringing in my journal that has tons of old writings from over a year ago and letting her know I want her to read it. So now I have to write so at least some of it is less than a year old.

Did she answer you back? If she does not mind you texting her and its not excessive , then I'm thinking its ok. Maybe you are just needing that extra support, you want to know she is there. Like a security blanket.

On the other hand I understand you want to veer away from the urge to text her every time you get that strong desire. That use to happen to me with t2, except no text or email. Just calls. I would distract myself until 5 pm.

She's completely okay with me texting, and encourages it a lot (I'm sure it's a lot easier and less intrusive than phone calls). But like you said, I don't want to text her every time I feel mildly upset or needy. I'm sure she doesn't mind, but I would like to actually deal with things rather than run to her and ask her to make it all better.

I like to use the Dear T... thread on this site when I want to text my T (sometimes I think I even use that too much - insecure about bothering people)
It makes me feel like I have contacted him and when I get 'thanks' or 'hugs' I know someone's read it, so it kind of feels like he's read it and replied.
